These Date Free Bliss Balls are the perfect easy and healthy snack after the delicious indulgence of Christmas Food. Not too sweet, but still rich with a hint of salty caramel they are my new go to portable take anywhere snack and they are a regular feature in my work lunchbox.
6 Ingredient Date Free Bliss Balls
6 Ingredients, 10 minutes and a food processor is what you need and you’ll be rewarded with bliss balls for a whole week that you can keep in the fridge on tap for sensible snacking or to enjoy after dinner with a cup of your favourite herbal tea.
Each date free bliss ball is just 120 calories and is sweetened with stevia. They are also low carb, with just 2% net carbs per serve.
I’ll let you in on a little secret. I actually take these to work for office morning teas. I don’t tell anyone they are free from added sugars. No-one asks what they have in them, so I don’t say anything.
It’s no secret that I consider myself to be a bit of a nerd. 13 years in the IT industry and counting. I love dabbling around in the world of online tech where I work with other nerds in case you’re wondering. All day. For 8 hours a day. 5 days a week. They are the opposite of foodies so I’m not surprised about the lack of questioning about what is in them.
Basically, all I get is “Yeah, these are good”, “Can I have another one” or “When are you making these again”. All fairly promising indicators that I have a little gem on my hands, and one that won’t leave me feeling bad when I join in with everyone else at our weekly morning catch ups.
Hazelnut Meal Alternative
And the sugar free maple syrup I buy is just from the local supermarket. The liquid stevia caramel flavoured drops require a special trip to the health food store as they are not so mainstream. But, they are well worth the investment as they go a long way and last for ages.
Well, a storm is brewing here on the not so sunny Sunshine Coast and I’m about to wrap things up and head off to the gym since I have no more bliss balls left to munch on. Sigh. Will just have to make some more when I get home.
