Chocolate Date Slice Bites

Who doesn’t love a good Chocolate Date Slice. This little beauty contains no refined white or brown sugars and is instead sweetened naturally with dates and a little stevia. Its just 20 minutes in the oven and it has oats, peanut butter, cinnamon and walnuts and of course cocao powder.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup Plain Flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Baking soda
  • ¼ cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • cup Rolled oats
  • cup Granulated sweetener that measures like sugar I use Natvia Stevia
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup Medjool dates seeds removed and roughly chopped
  • ¼ cup Sugar free or natural peanut butter
  • 1 medium egg
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • cup walnuts chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 160 degrees C/320 degrees F for Fan oven, 180 degrees C/350 degrees F for regular oven
  • In a medium sized mixing bowl, place the plain flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, oates, sweetener and cinnamon. Stir with a spoon to combine.
  • To the same bowl, add the chopped dates, walnuts, peanut butter, egg, milk and oil. Stir with a spoon until a batter is formed.
  • Spoon the mixture into a silicone muffin tray, evenly distributing the batter, and using a spoon to smooth over the tops.
  • Bake for 20 minutes. Let cool before removing from molds. Store in an air tight container for 4 days.
